Now that we know for certain that The Big Bang Theory's upcoming season will be its last, we can make a definitive list of things we would like to see before the world's biggest comedy series ends. If TBBT is going to show us any of this stuff, this is the time to do it. Here are eight things on our wish list.
8. Penny's maiden name
Penny's (Kaley Cuoco) last name is "Hofstadter" now, but before she and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) got married we never found out what her surname was. Every comedy that kept someone's real name a secret revealed it eventually (Winston Schmidt on New Girl, Ronald McDonald on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia). Them's the rules. It's time The Big Bang Theory played by them.
Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory
7. A Lenpen and/or Shamy baby
We know from Young Sheldon that Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) eventually have children, but folks involved in the show have said over and over again that there's no plan for Leonard and Penny or Sheldon and Amy to have any babies during the course of The Big Bang Theory. That will almost certainly change. That's what the people want, and The Big Bang Theory is in the business of giving the people what they want. One or both of these couples will have children, even if we just see them in a series finale flash-forward montage.
6. A partner for Raj
Raj (Kunal Nayyar) has been unlucky in love the entire ,run of the show, and all he wants is a companion. It's time to give him one. It could be someone he's dated before coming back into his life or it could be someone new, played by someone like...
5. A cameo from a Game of Thronesactor
... Emilia Clarke! Or Rose Leslie. Or Natalie Dormer, etc. We would also accept a cameo by Liam Cunningham as himself. The Big Bang Theory has had cameos from stars of all the other big sci-fi and fantasy franchises, but no one from Game of Thrones, even though TBBT has talked about GoT a lot. It would be fun to have them cross over, especially since both shows will be ending at around the same time. They're both WarnerMedia properties! It could happen!
4. More Young Sheldon crossovers
The Big Bang Theory and its spin-off Young Sheldon's producers have said they're exploring ways to have the shows interact more. One thing we know is going to happen is Sheldon's childhood friend Tam coming back into his life. But it may also be fun to have Iain Armitageand Zoe Perry and the gang show up on The Big Bang Theory in a dream sequence or something.
3. Fix the elevator!
It's been broken forever!
Jim Parsons, Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory
2. The return of "bazinga"
Sheldon's catchphrase hasn't been uttered since Season 8, but the show should bring it back one last time, for old time's sake.
1. The cast swimming in a giant pool of money like Scrooge McDuck
Just an acknowledgement of how crazy rich this show has made the cast is all we ask. The five main cast members have made about $140 million each. That's the most interesting thing about the show at this point, isn't it?
The final season of The Big Bang Theorywill debut Monday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c on CBS before moving to its regular time period on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8/7c.
